How To Register
California's community college system is a truly amazing bargain. Even after the recent increases in tuition fees, classes typically cost between $60 and $90 per term. That's right about 50 hours of instruction for under $100. (These rates apply to anyone who has been a resident of California for a minimum of one year. Significantly higher rates apply in all other cases.)
Typically to enroll in a community college the first step is to apply for admission. Usually this can be done on-line in about 10 minutes or so. Many colleges also require that you print out a residency affadavit which you then must sign and either fax or mail to the school.
After admission (generally in a day or two) you will normally receive a User ID and either a password or PIN (depending on the school). Some schools use your SSN as your User ID and some use your birthday (MM-DD-YY) as your initial password. In all cases, you are free to change your password/PIN at any time.
Having been admitted you can logon to the school's website to register for your chosen class. Normally that requires only that you select the course (often through the use of a shopping basket) and select the Register option. In those cases involving a shopping basket, don't forget to complete the checkout step.
Note: This page is being updated and we will continually add more classes. Some late registrations may still be relevant. By February, when the new schedules are out, it will be complete. Thanks for your patience. JL 013008
