About the Visual FoxPro Developer User Group
The ADD Visual FoxPro User Group is one of the oldest application developer communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Many of the members of this User Group have been business system developers for almost two decades.  While the growth of the other ADD SIGs can for the most part be credited to developers who have migrated into more recent tools and databases from the Foxpro community, members of this User Group continue to develop new applications with current versions, as well as maintain and extend legacy systems still running in older versions of this incredibly versatile and rich object oriented RAD data-centric platform.  Peer support and developer interactive sessions, including presentations in all areas of development such as desktop, web, application development best practices and integration with third party toolsets and frameworks, have kept these professionals meeting regularly for over twenty years.

This magazine, published in both print and electronic versions, continues the commitment of providing a magazine dedicated to FoxPro Developers, with great articles from great developers to help you hone your skills and increase your productivity.  And, yes, it all comes with source code!  In our February 2009 meeting we'll dive in and take a look at what FoxRockX has to offer.

Visual FoxPro Developer Meeting - January 2009 -

Thursday, January 22nd at Symmetry Corporation, 420 S. Hillview, Milpitas, CA - 6:30pm to 9:30pm

Here's hoping that your holidays were safe and filled with special memories.  In our meeting for January 2009 we start the new year by cracking open "The Coolest Tool Box" and check out what's there.  So, what is in "The Coolest Tool Box"?  We all use a variety of tools and goodies that help us work that virtual magic.  Sometimes a tool or widget comes along that does such an excellent job it just makes you smile to think about it.  It may be something in the VFP Toolbox, a scripting language or a technique, a framework or even something very small and unassuming that packs a serious punch when it comes to coolness.  So if you have a favorite tool/method/widget/thingy bring it along (or info about how to get to it) and we'll play with it!  No presentations required, but welcome if you are so inclined.  Come join us as we see if we can pick one as the "coolest" of them all.

Once again we have some great raffle prizes in the SWAG box.  Prizes will be awarded at the break and you must be present to win.  As always, our sponsor Symmetry Corporation will provide a sandwich/salad/wrap of choice to everyone who RSVP's prior to NOON Thrusday, Jan. 22,1009If you cannot RSVP by NOON via email, please contact Margaret by phone (408-391-4343) before 4pm.  Check out Subway's website at
